Kansas State Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame
2003 Lifetime Service to Wrestling Award Winners Announced

The Hall of Fame Board of Governors have selected the following men in the First Kansas State Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum. The men will be presented with a “Lifetime Service to Wrestling” plaque and their names will be permanently displayed in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in recognition of their years of service to our great sport. The men include:
  Alvin “Al” McCall Goodland 1949-1979
  Gordon “Buzz” Matson Oberlin 1968-1998
  Ed Keller St. Francis 1964-1976
  Jake Durham Norton 1955-1989
  William Bill Pickenpaugh Hoxie 1960-1980
  Dr. Warren J. "Barney" Boring St. Francis 1947-2000
  Steve Lampe Colby 1975-

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Kansas State Chapter will honor these men on Sunday, November 9 at the City Limits Convention Center – Comfort Inn in Colby, Kansas.

All seven men were role models for young athletes, and gave a lot to the sport of wrestling, as well as the young people they worked with.
