STANDING RULES
- Entry Deadline for the Sub-District Tournaments is ten days prior to
the tournament, so equal distribution of the District can be followed at
the seeding meeting. Entries must be postmarked by this deadline
date. NO EXCEPTIONS! NO REFUNDS! If a Club fails to pay
they will not receive their packet and good standing status the
following season until all entry fees and dues have been paid in full.
- District-wide workers will staff the District Tournament. Funds will be
split ½ to Host Club and ½ to District 1. Net funds returned to the
District will be dispersed by District vote. A proposed budget outlining
all expenditures will be presented at the general meeting for approval
by the voting members.
- District 1 coaches must be certified with a USAW Copper or Bronze
certification before their second year of coaching.
- The District will host a minimum of two coaches’ clinics per year.
- A wrestler can be moved to a different bracket only one time and this
change must be declared before noon.
- Junior Varsity, Novice records,
and “six and under” records are not allowed for seeding purposes in
qualifying tournaments.
- The ranking criteria to be utilized for sub-district seeding is as
follows:
- Kids prior year or High School Current year State Champion – 4 points.
- Kids prior year or High School Current year State Placer – 3 points.
- Kids prior year or High School Current year State Qualifier – 2 points.
- Current Year High School Varsity wrestler – 1 point.
Points are NOT to be combined. A wrestler will be seeded based on
a ranking of 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 and their current season record as
permitted by Rule 5. Wrestlers will be pre-seeded by Sub-District
Directors utilizing this information. These seeds will be utilized
to seed ½ of the number of wrestlers in the bracket. Only a change
to the competitors in a bracket, head-to-head match up or a majority
consensus of club directors can overturn the seeds established by the
Sub-District Directors.
- At the Sub-District Tournament, we will allow 5th & 6th place wrestlers
from the opposing sub to fill in if needed. The District Director will
oversee the substitutions on the day following the sub-district
tournament during the bracketing process for districts. We will
not wrestle the 5th place match at Districts unless we are aware that it
is needed.
- At the Sub-District and District Tournaments, the re-drawing of a
bracket will occur, only if a competitor is allowed to “bye” into the
finals without the benefit of a match or in the event there are only
four competitors remaining mandating a round robin format.
- District 1 qualifying tournaments mandate the following weigh-in times:
