2000-2001 Rules Changes
including changes to Kids' Rules Modifications
USA Wrestling - Kansas Kids

1. Officials shall address coaches and captains prior to contest concerning good sportsmanship. (Rule 3-1-4d)

2. Taping of shoelaces for kids will be optional. (Rule 4-1-3)

3. The double underhook snapback from a standing position is now categorized as an illegal hold. (Rule 7-1-5)

4. The use of tobacco products is now considered as flagrant misconduct for coaches and other team personnel. (Rules 7-4-3 and 7-5-5)

5. When a student is removed from the premises for unsportsmanlike conduct or flagrant misconduct, removal will only take place if there is an authorized school personnel available to supervise. If no supervision is available, they will be confined to the team bench. (Rule 8-1-4 and 8-1-6).  However, this new NFHSAA rule has been modified by the Kids Division - see #6.

6. Concerning "official ejections":
   • Placement of ejected person will appear on the Kansas wrestling web page
   • All people officially ejected must leave the building

   • 3 Strike Rule Repeat Offenders

   1st time ... 8 Days

   2nd time ... 24 days

   3rd time ... For rest of the season
