6A Assistant Coach of the Year

Manhattan High School

 

               Since 1984, Tony has served as the head assistant and J. V. coach for the Manhattan Indian wrestling team.  Prior to that he was an assistant at Manhattan Middle School.  During his tenure, with head coach Lee Woodford, the Indians have achieved much success.  This past season the Manhattan squad was league champs and runner-up in the 6A state championships.  Their J.V. dual record since 1984  was an amazing 125-7-2.

               Tony lettered three years in high school for Shawnee Mission East High School.  He then attended Kansas State University and graduated in the spring of 1984.  Tony’s current teaching assignment includes driver’s education, physical education, and health.
