Mark Charbonneau and Greg Pfizenmaier, of the Clay Center Tigers, are 4A Assistant Coaches of the Year. Both Rule-10 coaches helped lead the Tiger’s to their best state finish in 20 years and have been an essential part of the team’s success in recent years.

Phizenmaier has been an assistant coach for the past six years and along with Charonneau has helped coach the Clay County Kids program for more than 20 years.  He graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1975 and is now a farmer.

Charbonneau has been with the Tiger’s program as an assistant coach for the past two years and has helped coach the Clay Center Middle School wrestling team for the past ten years.  Also graduating from CCCHS in 1975, Charbonneau now works as a rural mail carrier.

A winning combination of extensive experience as wrestling coaches and of being excellent role models to the Clay Center youth make Charbonneau and Phizenmaier huge assets to the Tiger team.
