The Kansas City Star’s Kevin Bull is a recipient of the Media of the Year Award. Bull has years of wrestling coverage experience and has worked hard to keep the proud sport in the public eye.

As assistant sports editor for one year, Bull provided a weekly wrestling news report this past season. He has served as a page designer and copy editor for the Star. He began as copy chief at the Daily Telegram in Adrian, Michigan, after graduating from Michigan State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Sciences. He served as Michigan State beat writer from 1995-97.

He feels it is important to continue wrestling coverage due to the sport’s ongoing fight for survival.

“It’s important to continue to raise the expectations for coverage of wrestling,” he said. “With the wrestling situation, we must continue to keep the sport in the public eye.”
