RICK BOWDEN
Topeka

Rick Bowden has been with the Kansas State High School Activities Association for 12 years and has served as the wrestling administrator for the state. He is being honored by the KWCA for his many years of service to the student-athletes involved in the sport of wrestling. The work of Bowden and the KSHSAA staff allows for all scholastic opportunities to take place.

Prior to joining the KSHSAA, Bowden taught at Goddard HS from 1969-89, at Wichita West HS from 1989-90, and at Downtown Law and Public Service HS from 1990-93. He was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives from 1985-93.

He also was a certified wrestling official and has assisted at the NCAA wrestling tournament.

Bowden graduated from the College of Emporia in 1969 and received a Master’s degree from Wichita State in 1985.
