College Wrestler of the Year - 2005

SCOTT COLEMAN
Iowa State University

 

When he placed seventh in the 2005 NCAA Div. I tournament, Scott Coleman earned his second All-American finish for Iowa State.

Coleman was a four-time NCAA qualifier, once for BYU as a freshman, then three times for ISU. He was a Big runner-up and placed third in the Big 12 as a junior. Coleman was twice an Academic All-American and twice a first team Academic Big 12 pick as well with his 3.6 GPA

Coleman was a three-time state champion for Manhattan High School and coach Lee Woodford at 171 pounds. He won a 1998 Dave Schultz Award and was the 171-pound national champion in the NHSCA nationals. Coleman had a high school career record of 113-7.

Coleman’s future plans are to go to work for M.D.C. Holdings in Phoenix, Arizona.
