Shawn Bunch of Leavenworth High School and the University of Edinboro has proven himself as one of the top wrestlers to ever come out of the Sunflower State. A two-time state champion in high school, Bunch continued his successful run in college by earning multiple All-American honors, including making the NCAA Div. I finals in 2005 and finishing as the runner-up at 133 pounds.

In his senior campaign, Bunch placed first at the EWL, PSAC, Las Vegas, Southern Scuffle, Missouri Open, and EMU. He had an impressive record of 40-2 as a senior and finished third at the NCAA national championships.

In high school, Bunch won numerous All-American honors in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-roman. He was 150-10 for the Leavenworth Pioneers and coach Dave Schmidt, winning two state titles, and wrestling in the state finals four times.

He currently is finishing his degree at the University of Edinboro and has hopes to compete in the Olympics of 2008.
