6A Assistant Coach of the Year - 2006

Olathe North High School

Olathe North boasts the 6A Assistant Coaches of the Year in Eric DeYoe and Steve Jaso. DeYoe and Jaso assisted North head coach TJ Ulmer for a winning combination for the Eagles wrestling squad.

Olathe North had eight state qualifiers in 6A this past season, with three state placers and two in the finals. The team finished third at regionals, fourth at league, and second in the Osawatomie Invitational.

DeYoe previously had been an assistant at Olathe South in 1995-96 and at DeSoto in 1996-97. DeYoe was also head coach at DeSoto from 2001-03, and has been an assistant at North since 2003.

DeYoe has been a Kansas Cadet National team coach, selected twice to coach the Kansas City Metro Classic in 2001 and 2006, and a Kansas High School National team coach from 2003-06.

DeYoe played football at Highland Community College as a center and wrestled at Bridgewater State College. He was a member of the Kansas Cadet National team from 1992-94.

He currently coaches ninth grade football and works at Americorps program with Boys Hope/Girls Hope.
