Shawn Bammes
Plainville

Coach Shawn Bammes has played an important role in the continued success of the Plainville High School wrestling team since he joined them in 2006.  He helped guided PHS to a 4-4 dual record in the MCL, a Russell Tournament Team Championship, five state qualifiers, two state placers, and one state finalist.

Before joining the coaching staff at PHS Coach Bammes spent four season as an assistant at Hay High School.

Coach Bammes graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2001 where he was Division 2 National Qualifier.  Bammes also wrestled for Labette Community College where he was an NJCAA National Qualifier.

While wrestling for Manhattan High School, Bammes was a 4-time state qualifier, 3-time state placer finishing 3rd, 2nd, and 1st as a senior.  His overall high school record was 112-12.  In 1995 Bammes was named the 6A Wrestler of the Year and also earned High School All-American status.

Coach Bammes is currently the Recreation Director in Plainville.
