4A Senior Wrestler of the Year - 2008

Kevin Callahan
Baldwin

A state championship was a fitting way to end a fantastic wrestling career for Baldwin High School’s Allen Callahan.  Callahan’s title was special since he defeated a wrestler who had defeated him a week earlier in the regional finals.

Callahan’s senior year was full of gold medals.  He was first at Gardner, Rossville, Bobcat Classic, and state, after finishing second at the BIT, League, and Regionals.  He had a season record of 38-6 in his senior campaign.

For his career, Callahan put together a state record total of 171 wins and 22 losses.  He was the first 4-time placer in BHS history finishing 4th, 2nd, 2nd, and 1st.  He was also a 3-time regional champion, owns four Kansas State Wrestling records, and seven Baldwin High School records.  Callahan also excelled in the classroom where he earned KWCA Academic All-State status and was a honor roll member will at BHS.

Callahan’s college plans are currently undecided.
