Romero Cotton’s fourth state title is an amazing accomplishment, and one that earned him the honor of being the 5A Senior of the Year. Cotton won his fourth title for Hutchinson HS after going an impressive 41-0 his senior year. He became the state of Kansas’ 21st four-time state champion, and won his four titles at 145, 160, 171, and 1189. His career record was 136-11 and he was also selected to wrestle in Dapper Dan Classic in Pennsylvania where he was victorious.

In his senior year, Cotton was named the Outstanding Wrestler at Briston, Ok., Tosiba Classic, Newton Tournament of Champions, Rose Hill, and Regionals. He was also named AVCTL Wrestler of the Year and was named an Asics All American.

Cotton also excelled on the football field for Hutchinson High School where he was part of four state football championships. In addition, he has been a Cadet Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Champion as well as a Cadet Fila Freestyle and Greco-Roman Champion.

Cotton will continue is wrestling career at the University of Nebraska.
