Contributor of the Year - 2008

Bob Phillips
Holton

Bob Phillips has contributed to Kansas Wrestling at many levels.  From 2002 to 2007 Mr. Phillips ran the USAWKS Southern Plains Wrestling Camp at Fort Hays State University.  Not only did he run the camp, but he used his stipend each year to hire and pay camp counselors.  He contributed to Kansas High School wrestling by organizing regional tournament, tabulating and posting results ready for the state tournament, and was instrumental in the unification of the computer software used to run many high tournaments including regional and state.  Mr. Phillips has worked with the USAWKS Kids State Tournament every year and helped host FS/GR tournaments in Holton.

Mr. Phillips has contributed to the KWCA in many ways including ordering trophies for State record-breakers that are presented at the Big School-Little School dual.  He has also provided space and ran the KWCA website, moderated the USAWKS wrestling forum, and helped with advertising of KWCA Academic All-State team, state ranking, state recorders, Big School-Little School Dual, camp information. Etc.

Overall, Kansas Wrestling is better because of the efforts and contributions of Bob Phillips.
