My Hero

My Hero - 03/26/12 01:45 PM

Back from state, and I have a new hero. We had to pull Levi from the tournament...he wrestled tuff and in pain to start the day, but lost 6-4 in overtime I had to carry him from the floor back to the stands. We stayed another 60 matches and several hours, and I had to help walk out on the mat to shake hands with his next opponent and injury default. He felt that he owed it to his next opponent to "toe it up". We knew from watching him all year that he had a great shot at getting to the finals this weekend, but his body just could not take it anymore. This little man has more class, honor and dignity than most adults. I am so proud of him. And to top it off he is more dissapointed in not scoring a point for his team, than not placing. Now if only the doctors would figure out what is wrong. He has been battling this abdominal pain since the week of sub-districts.

Best wishes to Levi in a full recovery. Prayers that you will figure out what is causing him pain. It is difficult to sit in the stands at a tournament like that when your child is not competing or able to compete. Hats off to you all for sticking it out to fill an obligation your young wrestler felt was important. Our children never cease to amaze.....it is the reason I think I love the sport the most. While there are few that have tantrums and poor sportsmanship, overall after the adrenalin rush is over after a match...most of our young men are unbelievable when it comes honor and respect for this sport. Again, best wishes in a speedy recovery. And a pat on the back to Levi. It shows tremendous character. :-)

If the doctors you are going to can't figure it out go to others!

Levi went to surgery and they took his appendix and some swollen lymph nodes. Hopefully this will be the end of his month long ordeal. He is wanting back on the mat this summer and back on the baseball field.

Sorry he didn't get to compete! I really think he could have made the finals also! He is a tough lil dude and will come back strong next year! He is a great young man and glad Ryan and I got to know him a little over the past few weeks! Good luck with a speedy recovery and see ya next year!

Caden wants you to tell Levi to Get well soon. Caden is glad he made a friend from wrestling this year.

It also made Caden happy when Levi came over to him in the hallway outside the arena (after Caden was eliminated from the State tourney) and told him "Good Job Today".

When Levi gets to feeling better and wants a training partner this summer you can always look us up.
