Tournament entry question for clubs

Hey everyone, I have been toying with the idea of having or club members enter themselves in tournaments this year rather than having a dedicated person in our club entering everyone. Are there any other clubs who do this? If so, give me your feedback as far as positive and negative experiences with it. I know of some bordering states who do this and it seems to work fine.

I wouldnt suggest it. I’ve experienced it first hand with a club that has parents register their own kids. The TD spends way more time dealing with parents that forgot or didn’t realize what the cutoff was. Especially a nightmare when districts come along when they have been able to sign up late all year because they can get in by talking to the TD.

I've been around both situations and it doesn't matter too much either way to me. The one thing I caution is if you host a novice tournament, you will have the medal hunting parents sign up little Johnny as a novice even though he was a state qualifier the year before.
