james sparks emporia should be favorite to win state 215 lbs in 07. either 5 or 6a where ever we end up.

Guys don't forget Wamego's Chris Scheideman...he didn't qualify for state this year, but to leave him off the list would be insane. Very talented, just ended up in a very rough regional...one in which I believe all 4 men that went on to state placed in the 4a State Tournament.

I think Atticus is going HWT. Also I think around 189 Clay Center was loaded like a baked potato in the room. They had Rush, Marrs (3rd brother), and another wrestler all battling it out there. I would say if we are talking 189 or 215 Jayden Bird is on my list. 112 might be toughest 4a weight next year depending who goes up or down.

IF Eck isn't ok to wrestle...who do you predict at 171?

Re: Class of 2007! - 06/15/06 04:37 AM

well Tisahser would be a good canidate if he goes 160 or 171 and since elliot signed with ark city that makes 160 and 171 a little easier

And I say if Cox stays at 4A, he is a likely 4Xer. I know a little early, but he has that potential.

Re: Class of 2007! - 06/23/06 04:21 AM

Darin Stroot is my pick for next years 103 state champ. Trent and Darin had some pretty good match ups during practice for the spot at 103. He was a SQ at 112 and only was about 104 lb if he was lucky.

I agree with the Stroot thing. I wrestled him when we were younger and we went back and forth. He has amazing speed.

Re: Class of 2007! - 08/18/06 02:27 AM

I can not believe this post. The QUESTION was who are the DOMINATING wrestlers. I can not believe guys that have loss 9 to 17 matches and wrestlers who did not qualify for state are even mentioned. What? Is everyone putting down their buddies to make them feel good. Quit being nice and riding the fence. Who is DOMINATING and who is not.
Posted By: Alvarez

Re: Class of 2007! - 08/18/06 02:50 AM

well he did place at state and he dominated the reason he lost 9 matches was cuz he lost to like the same kid 3 times and he will dominate this year to
Posted By: Beeson

Re: Class of 2007! - 08/18/06 03:19 AM

Do the math 9 losses, 3 to the same kid, that one kid is not the reason for the other 6. I'm not saying he is not a good wrestler, just probably should not be listed as a dominator until he proves himself.

Re: Class of 2007! - 08/19/06 07:48 PM

Chris Scheideman should be mentioned. He beat Arveson two times last year and lost to him by a point a regionals last year. He also placed 4th as a Sophmore. All the kids at regionals at his weight that placed at state, he had beat at least twice and two of them he had majored. The only one he had not wrestled was Mundy and I think that would of been a good match.

Not sticking up for a buddy, I'm just a fan that watches NCKL wrestling. He is a great kid and like Swayz mentioned along time ago, he will have a great season again this year.

According to my cousin, Joe Schridde, who is a teachers aid for a highschool wrestling coach at Great Bend. Bahe is on the class roster for Vo Ag at GBHS.

Re: Class of 2007! - 08/24/06 09:08 PM

Bahe is attending school in Great Bend and will be on the Panthers Wrestling team. I just spoke to the Principal and he did confirm that he is there and will be wrestling for them.

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/06/06 02:15 AM

Though he's not a Senior, Racette from Oakley should dominate 215 in 321A. It is the opinion of most people that had it not been for the early injury in the Championship match, he would have defeated Foster. Racette basically wrestled on one leg for most of the match and only lost 8-6. From what I understand he has put on another 10 lbs of muscle and is weighing about 210 right now. He's hungry and is looking forward to State again.

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/06/06 01:33 PM

Is Steven Foster going to go 215 his senior year? He looks too big but on the other hand running the football for 240 yards a game (as he did last week) will help you lose weight.
Posted By: NWK Lifer

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/07/06 02:34 AM

I understand he had to cut weight last year to make 215 and I would imagine he will do the same this year. I want to see he and Racette match up again this year. My money is on Racette to go undefeated.

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/07/06 01:56 PM

I think I would have to go w/ the returning state champion.
Posted By: NWK Lifer

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/08/06 01:50 AM

Your opinion is valid and a safe bet if you don't have all the information. Let's just say that my above opinion about who is better is substantiated by an individual who wrestled both Foster and Racette.

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/08/06 09:01 AM

Arveson and Irvine have to want to get out on the mat to wrestle in the first place...they are seniors, but I'm not sure their heart is in it for wrestling fully, but hopefully seeing as they have great chances at State Titles, maybe they will go out.

Any update on Tischauser? Heard he's banged up again.

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/08/06 01:53 PM

Don't get me wrong. I think Aaron is very good and has been overlooked by a lot of people when talking about outstanding wrestlers. However, I think saying he will "dominate" 215 and will go "undefeated" when he has the returning state champion coming back is a little bit much. Don't forget that he and Steven were on the same side of the bracket at State in 2005 when Steve finished 2nd and Aaron did not place.

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/08/06 04:34 PM

You know i had a fractured ankle as well during me and Racette's match... it was the size of a baseball inside my wrestling shoe... elevating and icing my ankle after every match doesnt really matter because Racette hurt is foot right? I weigh about 240 right now and dont know what i am doing for wrestling yet.. that is to much weight for to cut i think. i started at 232 last year and had a really tough time cutting weight. but if me and aaron are wrestling again hope you are sitting on the front row....
Posted By: NWK Lifer

Re: Class of 2007! - 09/09/06 02:16 AM

All discussion aside about a rematch, the bigger issue here is your health. I heard you had a tough time getting down to 215, and weighing even more this year and trying to get down there would be dangerous in my opinion. The only thing I hate about this sport is the obsession to cut too much weight. That is extremely tough on a young body. I would love to see a rematch of you two this coming year, but it sounds like it won't happen. Maybe you two will be standing side by side as Champions in different weight classes. If that is the case, then I wish you a very successful season.
