Re: 321-A Rankings Updated - 12/28/08 05:05 PM

shouldn't Wildin be ranked over gantz? I don't know if this will mean anything at the moment... but rickie creek lost to wildin 4-0 last year at the chase county tournament and about a month later at the fall brawl gantz lost to creek 4-1... but hopefully gantz will be good and able to wrestle at the halsted tournament and we can get that answered.

Norton results show Caz Spangler winning it at 145, did he just drop for this tournament or is this where he is at for the year?

Re: 321-A Rankings Updated - 01/20/09 07:28 PM

At 135, Webber was beaten by Bingham of Burlingame at Burlington and Devin Bingham was pinned by Nick Hockett of Cherryvale in the finals. However, Webber has been hurt so this may mean nothing. Also, Kyle White has been wrestling 140. Dalton Davis has been wrestling 119 not 112. At 112, Solis was beaten by Zaldivar from Douglass as previously stated. Steven Howard of Eureka beat Zaldivar 8 to 7 in a dual and finished ahead of Holub at the Minneapolis Tournament. Howard was beaten by Michael Vander Linden of Burlington at their tournament 11 to 8.

So 112 might go something like this:

112
1. Troy Bainter-Norton-10
2. Jeremiah Breen-Wellsville-11
3. Michael Vander Linden-Burlington-10
4. Steven Howard-Eureka-10
5. Daylen Zaldivar-Douglass-11
6. Anthony Henley-Herrington-12

I'm just a bystander on this ranking, but here is a suggestion. When giving input about criteria in the rankings, understand that this info is much appreciated. The rankers work hard to make the rankings as accurate as possible. Instead of asking, "Why is he not ranked?", just give the criteria information. The rankings are only as good as the input!

Re: 321-A Rankings Updated - 01/21/09 02:45 AM

Amen, these rankings are fun, but as fans of wrestling we should know that the true ranking will emerge at state. Some times the weekend results are not the true measure of a wrestler, sickness, injury, and other factors often cause a wrestler to have an off weekend. Certain wrestlers never seem to peak until the end of the season, so enjoy the wrestling and these rankings will work themselves out in the end.

Goodland took first at the Hays tournament this weekend beating many good teams from all the state classes. Must say I was impressed with many of the wrestlers present, there are some real tough freshman that will be making their presence felt over the next for years. Schumacher from TMP is a fine wrestler, I look forward to watching him and Avelar have a rematch.Austin has shown an incredible ability to rebound against wrestlers who have a win over him. His mental toughness and dedication to hard work in the wrestling room have shown he will be a force to reckon with this year and the years to come.
