Thought I'd ramp up some conversation on the 321A Regionals by doing a preview for each one. Enjoy!

This is how I see the team race going at Onaga:

This looks like a tight team race with ACCHS, Marysville, and Rossville being the teams to beat.

Thanks for including me in there Wyatt, I just tried to be as goods as Harry was, and you are doing a bang up job. I think that Edelman and Wenger have switched weights for Sabetha.

I thought Edelman and Wenger may have switched weights, but I went with where they had been wrestling most of the season. I also think Edelman is better suited for 195 at the State Tournament, so I didn't see him making that move up to 220. We'll find out this weekend where they will be wrestling.

And thanks Coach Brown, it's been a fun year doing the rankings.

At 145 lbs., the sixth seed Dylan Jones of Marysville sure did shake things up as he upset #3 seed and currently ranked #4 in 321A Triston Hurla of St. Marys.

Quarterfinal - Dylan Jones (Marysville) 17-15 won by decision over Triston Hurla (St. Marys) 25-7 (Dec 8-6)

Then he pushed to the brink the #2 seed and currently ranked #3 in 321A Tanner Niemczyk of Beloit losing in a 5 to 3 decision.

I wouldn't say they dominated the Regional seeing as they only beat Marysville by 3.5 points and qualified the same amount of wrestlers at 6, but yes Coach Flores is very deserving of this award. Congrats to Coach Flores and Effingham-ACCHS!

I believe this is the toughest NE Ks. regional I have ever seen. It will be fun to watch them out at Hays. Onaga did a great job of running the tourney.

Should have been at Beloit in 2009...pretty tough

Congrats to the NE Kansas regional! I am sure this is the best we have ever performed at State. 3 top 10 teams. 3 champs, 6 finalists 18 in the semis and 23 medals. In the 80's this regional might place 7 or 8 kids from the whole region. Great to see the vast improvement. keep up the good work!

I think 2001 NE Kansas had 6 champs.
