ALL-CLASS DENVER TRIP

UPDATE ON THE ALL-CLASS DUAL TEAM!

My favorite event of the year!

Our annual trip to the Rockies is set for Thursday March 16th through Sunday March 19th. This years team is looking like a special one.

Immediately after the state tournament, I will be issuing formal invitations to join the team based on the All-Class rankings. The estimated cost will be $300 per wrestler. This includes transportation, three night hotel stay, entry fees to the duals on Friday and the two-day bracketed tournament on Saturday and Sunday as well as a Team Kansas shirt.

Our wrestlers will get the same two pound allowance that we get for state so KEEP YOUR WEIGHT UNDER CONTROL until we weigh-in JUST ONCE on that Friday for ALL THREE DAYS.

I will enter all of our wrestlers on track, no need to enter individually. We have finished in the top 2 of this event every year we've entered and have won this event 4 out of 6 years!

This will be our 7th trip for Team Kansas at the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Denver, CO. They have called and interviewed me about our upcoming team.

Team Kansas is leaving tomorrow morning for Denver!

We will get a workout in at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, hosted by their head coach and our own Austin DeVoe!

As defending champs, a target is squarely on us. With 17 state champions and 13 state placers, this team WILL compete!

Wow!!!!

Both Kansas teams went 4-0 in the duals and decided to tie for 1st place! Tomorrow they all compete in a bracket!

22 Placers... 5 Champions... Dual Team Champions... Tournament Overall Champions...

This trip was spectacular. I could go on and on about the battles won and lost, tears shed and praise given! A few in particular...

Jonathan Ball caps off his undefeated senior season by going 9-0 on the weekend in dominant fashion, majoring his finals opponent on the elevated lit up stage mat!

Cale Davidson was the talk of the crowd, going 8-0 and awarded the 2017 RMN Outstanding wrestler!

Deveron Duncan was dominant, going 8-0 and pinning our own state champion Caleb Willis in the finals. The crowd loved those two big boys on the lighted stage!

Marcus Robinson very well could have won OW. He went 10-0, while displaying incredible athleticism. He also settled the All-Class 126 debate by majoring Jevon Parrish in the Semis!

I have to shout out to Dallas Wilson. That kid's attitude is flat out contagious. He went 10-1 for the weekend, wrestling three straight matches with only ten minutes in between! If there is a better gas tank in Kansas, I haven't seen it.

Boo Dryden took 2nd at that weight, beating Colorado's Serano 9-8, who had not lost in four years!

Hunter Mullin rallied back from two losses in the duals to win the 160 pound bracket! That kid loves to wrestle!

I could talk about every single wrestler at length. It was a well earned special reward for a fantastic season from these Kansas warriors. Thank you to the coaches, Cody Garcia, Chad Beeson, Greg Andres and Doug Hoover! Awesome work and advice to our team. The view of the Rockies, 80 degree weather and a safe long drive home till 2am, brought glory and thankfulness to God!
