In our dual last against ONW Anthony Macaluso had a gruesome ankle sprain 20 seconds into the match....I immediately assumed it was broken.
He then used 1:29 of injury time, hopped back on one foot, and proceeded to battle for the full 6 minutes against a very tough opponent. Sometimes he needed help getting up from the official, sometimes he had to drag himself back to the center, but he kept battling and scoring points until the final buzzer. That kid is a champion.
The toughness he displayed in that match is what wrestling is all about....I know our wrestlers learned a lot from watching him battle through unbelievable adversity. His resolve is not only a testament to him, but to the culture Coach Mesa and Co. have created at ONW. Well done and wishing you a speedy recovery, Anthony!
