Taco Shop Challenge - 02/26/06 05:52 PM

Let's set it up. I know it's short notice, but tomorrow is All You Can Eat tacos at Taco Shop. Let's see who can put the most down.

I say any team or individual meets at 4:30 at the corner of Central and West for the Taco State Title.

As soon as Coach Church confirms it, it is official!

You won't catch me eating tacos with Goddard. Funny how Taco Shop is more convenient than anything in the town you're all supposed to be living in.

?????
Although very few of the wrestlers actually live in Goddard (our district is over 60 square miles), the Taco Bell in town doesn't have "All you can eat."

This is also supposed to be for fun, and we want to do it with people from all over the area. Hopefully, wrestlers from all over will do this and we can all have some fun. Why not meet in the middle?

Finally, we like to support the family of Wichita South coaches. I think Mike should get a kick back from his uncle.

Hey how about a cold bolonga sandwich eat off...5 and 6a might beat everyone with the experience this past week at state. That's ok...4a had bad apples.

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 02/27/06 06:45 AM

Lets all meet in Salina, The week of spring break, for not only a wrestling get together but we can stay at the Holiday Inn and then travel to the Coyote Canyon buffet, to see who the real champion is. Steaks and ribs, who eats the most wins? Any takers?

I get a good kickback already! They do all my fundraisers for me and pretty much fund the entire winter sports programs here at South. It's a goo deal!

Thanks Taco Shop and Uncle Steve Church

That's it start the challenge when I am trying to loose weight and so many others are still wrestling. I put my money on Jilka for the coaches challenge.

I have also seen people double post just to get post totals up, actually just kidding Church. Nathan two weeks ago put 15 away there. He had fun getting rid of them before making weight that week.

I'm going to have to battle through a sore throat I somehow got this weekend, but I'll give it the fat-guy-try. Furches, you can do this just once. I was hoping to see you there. I know the date is bad, but if we don't do it now, it'll never get done.

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 02/27/06 10:48 PM

How dare all of you issue an eating contest challenge without sending an invitation to the Northeast.

Is it because you're all afraid I'll win? Is it because you know I recently ate 60 chicken wings, have easily finished a Grande Meal, have completed the Wonder Meal on numerous occasions and have eaten a large mushroom pizza from Sbarros in under half an hour? Is it because you can't cover the cost to fly me to the area? Is it because my appearance fee is so high?

Or is it a showing of respect, recognizing that I alone have the power to demolish the entire taco population of south-central Kansas?

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 02/28/06 12:28 AM

O.k...I can't remember who, but somebody put away twenty tonight... however, Coach Jilka and I did not expect such a turnout so we have decided to call tonight a seeding meeting for the actual contest next Monday March sixth at 4:30 P.M..

A trophy will be given out to the individual champion.

We might need to do a 189 and under and 190 and over division...LOL.. I about fell out of my chair when the Keller twins showed up for an eating contest..LOL I thought that was great. Mitch Arnold did put away 15 but was forced to leave b/c of homework concerns. My money will be on Xavier Louis next monday who has eaten 30 in one setting!

Entry fee is about $4.70 for all you can eat tacos and a medium drink tax incuded. Lets get it on... I think this time I will just judge since my weight is now an issue and being broadcast on the internet!

smacktalker, Did you just call me fat? I'm coming over to rub your nose in the carpet!! (again) LOL but you are correct Mike jr. is very chuncky for his age. I constantly tell him I was never fat like that untill i was in my forties. Also I can't eat very many tacos but I can drink alot of bud!!! :-)

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 02/28/06 05:54 AM

All the tacos you can eat for 4.70, i dont know if i would ever leave. I bet i could only put down 15 at the most and im a very big guy so some of these feats are amazing to me, but then again i never had to cut much weight to wrestle so i havent been starving since probally my sophmore year.

We didn't invite you for all of the above. We're trying to get some practice before you come demolish us all. You're more than welcome to come though whenever you get the chance. Just make sure you give us warning so we can make sure Taco Shop is prepared.

Will talk to Nate, it may be on for Next Monday, will have to skip practice but believe we can work that out. Nate told me that a couple of weeks ago he did 16, hard to believe but that is what he said.

Yea I attended today...good times...I racked up another 12 tacos..

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 03/07/06 02:43 AM

Ask Mr. Richey how it feels to eat 20 tacos and then go to a Wizzers practice.
Posted By: Chase

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 03/08/06 04:28 PM

Yea Richey ate 23 tacos to be exact...Chenoweth graced us with his presents too..
Posted By: titanwrestler

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 03/08/06 07:50 PM

the south high boys dominated the taco shop eating contest this week Bishop Price ate 17 and Jake Richey ate 23.
Posted By: Mike Church Sr.

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 03/08/06 08:00 PM

First I would like to say thanks to everyone who showed up for the taco eating contest. However after reviewing vidieo tape I can tell you that Richey only ate 17 tacos not 23. The Keller's and Detmer have been officialy disqualified on account of the three for one rule in a taco eating contest. :-0 :-) Better luck next time ( IF YOU EVER WANT TO TRY AGAIN).
Bishop Price Of South High is delcared the winner.

Are we planning on eatin the tacos this coming Monday?
Posted By: Ryan Jilka

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 03/08/06 08:45 PM

I don't think Goddard boys should. Remember, you have to go in front of the school board on Monday night. I think there could be big issues if you indulge in dozens of tacos and then go into a small room.

Re: Taco Shop Challenge - 03/08/06 08:49 PM

By the way, Thanks Jilka for encouraging the air freshners Monday Night at the Wizzers Practice. Some boys was laughing so hard that they couldn't get much serious practice in.
