Colt Rogers, Smith Center, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Bethany College for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Rogers is transferring to Bethany from Pittsburg State University. Prior to college, he attended Smith Center High School, where he was a four-time state champion and won team championships his freshman, sophomore, and senior years. Rogers has a 149-3 career record and is the state leader in career take-downs (588).
In addition to wrestling, Rogers also participated in football and track. He was a four-year starter for football, and the team won three state championships and one runner-up. He earned all-state honors his junior and senior year. Rogers also medaled in ten events at the state track meet.
Head Wrestling Coach Jacob Marrs says, "Colt Rogers comes from a great family and community at Smith Center. He is well accomplished as a three sport athlete and any program in the country would be privileged to have him at their institution. We have faith that Colt will make a large impact on this campus right away."
Rogers is the son of Mike and Cally Rogers and plans to major in biology.
