Okay, help me out when it comes to rankings. We all know that Clay Center is going to take first in our league. But, who takes second? Chapman has defeated Wamego and Concordia but lost to Clay Center and Marysville. Marysville has beaten Chapman and Wamego but lost to Concordia. Concordia has defeated Marysville and Wamego but lost to Chapman. Abilene has lost to Concordia but defeated Marysville and Wamego.
If Chapman beats Abilene on Thursday, does that mean Chapman is in second or is there a three-way tie?
By the way, Chapman lost to Marysville with Chapman having three open spots - 152 (Cody Provance injury) 160 (Noel Richardson mono) and 215. Does that make a difference?

Does it really matter? I don't believe they are giving out plaques for 2nd place in a non league tournament, league.

It matters to a team that has placed near the bottom. To get second in our league is quite an accomplishment when you look at the teams. No, there is no plaque, just improvement from last year.

Here's how I see the league standings.
If Clay Center beats Concordia on Thursday they they are league champs. If Clay Center loses then Clay Center and Concordia both have 4-1 records in league.
If Clay Center wins and Chapman defeats Abilene then:
Clay Center 5-0 Concordia 3-2 Chapman 3-2 Abilene 2-3 Marysville 2-3 Wamego 0-5

Chapman and Concordia would tie? They split 1-1 didn't they earlier on the year, but only one counted in the league standings and that was the one Chapman won?

I guess if there was a tiebreaker for 2nd place Chapman would have it, if everything works out that way.

Jess Lemon lost to Peterson 4-1 at the Herington tournament. They will wrestle again tomorrow for league. Jess did not wrestle Hosfelt. Chapman is suffering from the same condition other teams in this league are....kids getting sick. When we wrestled against Marysville, we were down two kids (Cody Provance and Noel Richardson). That left us with 3 open spots. Coach thought that he would bump everyone up one weight class, add in a jv at one of the lower weights and hopefully fill in at least one of the open spots. Jess was bumped up to 140 but Marysville was open.
If you want to compare kids... Jess lost by 3 to Petersen and beat Olsen from Wamego 6 to 2. I think Hosfelt and Jess are pretty much even.
