Nominations have been accepted for the first annual USAWKS Wrestling Awards. After initial nominations the nominees have been narrowed down to the top 4 vote getters among the judges, and in the case of ties, there may be more than 4 nominees. The Awards will be affectionately known as The Pete's in honor of Kansas first Olympic Gold Medallist at any sport, Peter Mehringer, the 1932 Olympic Gold Medal Winner in Freestyle wrestling at the weight of 192 pounds.
Final Nominations as of Monday Feb 26, 12:00 PM
Please note, we have 13 judges across the state which is a part of the nomination and final selection process. Of the 13 judges volunteering to take part in this process, 11 contributed to the final selection of nominees listed below. All 13 will be invited and encouraged to vote for the winner in each category, it should be noted however, judges at their discretion may choose to not vote in a particular category as a result of conflict of interest, (i.e. being nominated in that category), or little knowledge about the category. I am encouraging appropriate positive discussion on each of the nominees to help the judges with the final decision. Judges will be expected to contact me via private message or email with their votes. Each judge should vote for the top three in each category. Judges at their discretion can vote for less than the top 3 in a particular category if they choose. All ballots must be in to me no later than midnight March 3, (Saturday) no ballots will be accepted after that time. Judges will be notified via this post and personal messages via this forum. Please vote for your top 3 in each category by placing the number of your vote beside their name, for example:

Frank – 3
Note that a 1 designates your top choice, 2, second, 3 – third.
