Alright I've got a question and I've searched the rule book and I am unable to find it, need help.... If your wrestler has been wrestling 8 under, some 10 under and some national tournaments in multiple states I've heard conflicting answers on. What is his actual record? What counts? What doesn't? I honestly have no idea and thought that it just all counts on his record All wins & loses no matter where when what age group any answers?
Jon Trowbridge Ive never had the fear of getting beat thats how most people lose.

i don't believe there is an actual rule, but count them all. when it comes to seeding meetings, some will "pad" their record, but it doesn't mean as much as some would hope. we always turn in our wreslters total record (tulsa, liberty, ck, reno, etc.) if there is any question we don't hide the fact that we go to these tourneys either. if you wrestle up in age and lose all those matches, include them in the record, most people will know who those wrestlers are. it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I may be wrong, but I was always under the impression that it was only the Kansas tournaments and qualifying age for sub seating....although the athlete may have wrestled two weight divisions those W - L's were included. Of course no W for a Bye or a no show.
In it to win it.

Well said suckerpunch. When it come to subs most likely there will be atleast one person that will have insight on the proper seeding and who gets them. Records really dont mean alot when you have a seeding meeting due to the fact that a coach or dad will have knowledge on wrestlers. Records are out the window if it comes down to head to head competition. IMO records only come down to a few national tourny's and if a wrestkers desrves a 4 thru 6 seed.

If a non national placer is 1-1 with a national placer and they are both potentially #1 seeds what would be the tie breaker if the non national placer won head to head last time they met?

It is not always the "coach dad" at the meeting so I suggest keeping track of every match etc. so you have that info for your coaches when they go to the seeding meeting. We submit only our Kansas record for subs and I think they may specifically state that in the packet the clubs get for sub registration. That being said I don't think the national record would matter only Kansas.

In regards of keeping track of a wrestlers record. I tell every parent to keep track of it that way we can use it. That means writing down who the wrestler wrestled and what the score was. Then I take that to the seeding mtg and go from there. If a parent chooses not to then they cant argue about their childs seed. I(we) do our best with what we have when it comes to those seeding mtgs. I show them how I keep my childs info. I keep a very thorough sheet and they can view that at anytime.
