The 2009 U.S. Senior Women's Rankings have Garden City native Beth Johnson ranked #8 nationally at 55 kg (121 lbs). Ranked #3 is Michaela Hutchison, who Beth defeated in a solid victory at the Junior Nationals in Fargo. Congratulations on the early ranking Beth, and good luck moving up the ladder!

I'm sure that there are a great many fans that are watching to see how Beth would do at the World Team Trials. To avoid the need for any unnecessary speculation, I thought it best that I report that Beth will not be competing at the Trials and, in all likelihood, has retired from competitive wrestling.
Due to a sequence of concussions, Beth has found it very difficult lately to concentrate and recall recent events. After two examinations, it was strongly recommended that Beth refrain from any activity that would be likely to result in another injury to her brain. Therefore, with a heavy heart, Beth has hung up her wrestling shoes.
Beth is working on getting past her current problems with short-term memory loss and hopes to finish her studies and return home to Kansas. Ultimately, her plans include training to become a chiropracter and coaching our Kansas Women's team.
Let's all let Beth know how much we appreciate what she's done and how well she has represented Kansas!
