World medalists Pico, McKenna and Snyder can return to the UWW Junior National Championships in Las Vegas

USA Wrestling is proud to announce that it will be hosting the UWW Junior Greco-Roman and Freestyle National Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., along with the ASICS/Las Vegas Open Wrestling Championships, May 7-9 at the South Point Hotel, Spa & Casino.
UWW Junior athletes will compete in freestyle and Greco-Roman with the chance to compete for national titles and All-American honors. The UWW Junior age group includes athletes between the ages of 17 and 20, featuring some of the countrys top high school athletes and college underclassmen wrestlers.
Champions in the Greco-Roman competition will earn spots on the 2015 UWW Junior World Team, which will compete in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, August 11-16.
The top eight place winners in the freestyle competition will qualify for the UWW Junior Freestyle World Team Trials in Madison, Wis., June 10. The champions in Las Vegas earn the No. 1 position at their weight in Madison.
Josiah Seaton, 2014 UWW Junior Greco-Roman World Team member, is still eligible to compete in this years competition at 110.25 lbs. 2014 UWW Junior Freestyle World Team members that are eligible to return and compete this year include two-time Junior World medalist Kyle Snyder at 211.5 lbs, World silver medalist Joey McKenna at 138.75 lbs, World silver medalist Aaron Pico at 145.5 lbs and Anthony Valencia at 163 lbs.
2014 UWW Junior Freestyle National Champions who can compete are Kirk Johansen at 110.25 lbs, Logan Massa at 154.25 lbs, Anthony Valencia at 163 lbs, Peter Renda at 174 lbs and Ricky Robertson at 185 lbs.
Freestyle runner-ups who are eligible to return and compete this year are Michael Beck at 110.25 lbs, Stevan Micic at 121.25 lbs, Matthew Kolodzik at 132.25 lbs, Zain Retherford at 145.5 lbs, Ryan Blees at 154.25 lbs, Isaiah Martinez at 163 lbs and Garrett Ryan at 264.5 lbs.
2014 UWW Junior Greco-Roman National Champions who can compete this year are Colt Schilling at 138.75 lbs and Mason Manville at 154.25 lbs.
Greco-Roman runner-ups who are eligible to compete are Michael Beck at 110.25 lbs, Blake Clevenger at 138.75 lbs, Brett Stolarzyk at 145.5 lbs, Nick Tarpley at 154.25 lbs, Anthony Valencia at 163 lbs, Roy Nash at 211.5 lbs and Sam Stoll at 264.5 lbs.

On-site registration will also be offered for the UWW Junior Freestyle and Greco-Roman Nationals at a higher price than online registration.
The competition for UWW Junior Greco-Roman wrestlers will be held Thursday, May 7. The UWW Junior Freestyle competition will be held on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.
Some of the athletes who compete at the UWW Junior Nationals may also enter the U.S. Open, giving them an opportunity to test their skills on the Senior level. In past tournaments, there have been athletes who have medaled in both the UWW Junior and Senior division in the same year.
