Andover Central went to the Hays tournament. I liked it. It was well run and a great site. There wasn't a lot of wrestlers. They ran round robin on all weights. Manhattan and Abilene brought the most kids. At 215 my son got 5 quality matches so we can't complain. If more teams would committ it would be better. This is a great oppurtunity and I would hate KS High School wrestling to miss it. Bottom line is that it is a start and I look forward to next year. As far as the results I am sure they will be up soon. Don't forget it is the holidays. Here are some results I can remember:

152 - Hambelton from Labette County
160 - Tieschauser from Abilene
171 - Potter from Andover Central
189 - Eichman from Manhattan
215 - Disney from Andover Central
275 - Andrus from Manhattan

Thanks bdisney for the partial results. Beats the heck out of the nothing that we were getting. I see from your post below that Hat town was there. They have some active posters. So, come on Hat town - provide us with some more results! ;-)

The tournament was very hospitable. We got into town late on Thursday night and had forgotten our scale. No problem. Chaz Thompson met us at the arena and let us use a check scale. The tournament started right on time at 10:00 a.m. and we were on the road by 4:00 a.m.. The tables were worked by FHSU wrestlers and things went smoothly. They didn't take unnecessary breaks. We went right through. It is my understanding that they will have the tournament again next year. I think they will try to have committments from teams a lot earlier. Wrestlers and parents need to start talking with their coaches now so they can get this on their schedule. It really could be a great deal.

i really hope that this tournament keeps going for a long time. i mean, it's the only tournament in Kansas over christmas break i think, and from what i hear it sounds like it was held at a great venue. next year should be a better turnout, since teams will have more time to put it in their schedules and prepare for it.

Does anyone have the full results? It would be nice to see how many teams were there, etc.
