Congratulations to Baldwin's Kyle Flory. I was meandering through missouri's comments on the mokan metro classic and saw some tournament results with Flory being beat 3 times. All three guys were state champions in their respective class this year. I also saw Flory get beat twice at the Bobcat Classic by previous state champions. Who else did Flory lose too? Thats one heck of a season. I thought 6 loses seemed high but thats something to be proud of when the only guys that can beat him are/were state champs.

Big props to Kit Harris for putting together a mean schedule. Looks like the experiance of good competition paid off.

To answer your question, Flory lost this year to:

Nigel Kenworthy, St. Charles West, 16-1
Louis Caputo, Blue Springs, LBF 3rd
Will Sears, Oak Grove, 12-10
Kurtis Baylor, Columbus, 13-9
Ryan Kromer, Garden City, 4-2 or 6-2
Nathan Payne, Paola, 4-2

Two of those wrestlers he came back and split with them. All those wrestlers have at least one state gold and three have won AA honors. In that very same MO tournament, Flory had to beat another MO state champion 4-2 in OT just to finish the day in 7th place. It was one heck of a bracket. All of the wrestlers listed above are excellent wrestlers.

Baldwin is a solid program on the rise. Kit Harris has been a great ambassador for the sport of wrestling in Kansas, and has built a schedule for Baldwin wrestlers to have them prepared to peak at the end of the season. It is a very smart strategy, and his wrestlers benefit from it when it comes down to final matches of the season.

Keep an eye on the Baldwin program, it will surely be solid for many years to come with the amount of work being put into it. It is very impressive for sure.
