I've been looking at results so far from all over the state and there are some really talented wrestlers in this age division and at these weights.
I would personally like to see a SUPER BRACKET for some of these kids.
Riedel
Lindsey
Villapondo
Harper

Schroeder
Squires
Reneburg
Weber

Spexarth
Bockover
Gamble
Robinson

Bockman
Bowen
Voth

If there are ANY other names out there that I have missed then I am sorry and please feel free to suggest.

This could be an exhibition bracket held in a different session at a tournament.
There have been a few other threads that have talked about doing something like this. I think it would be great for the sport and awesome for the fans.

I would love to hear a few other thoughts on this.

bockman and bockover are the same kid. you can throw troy fisher in there and might as well add Luke Johnson from NW grizzlies in there, you have Brendon Young from Lincoln and Miller from Osborne that would be good to add. Would throw in Hartley and Newton if they are around 76 lbs.

bugner from Brawlers would be in that group as well. Have Gamble and Schroeder ever mat. I would like to see that one as well. They both won Cliff Keen. We will get our first look at Gamble at Tulsa.

Scott. Were all set for Tulsa. Rooms booked. Send me a PM or give me a call to find a time to get together and let Kade meet you and the kids and coaches as well as the singlet.

On that bracket, might also throw in Finnesy from P-ville. Think 3rd at 6 under last year....at 73 lbs this year. Not sure he's been beat yet this year.

If we want to see this happen at the Haysville tournament then lets start putting it together and getting it worked out and people on board!

this is a much tougher bracket and i think its the same weight difference from 64 to 73 depending on what hartley and newton weigh. I think newton wrestled at 76 this last weekend and think jackson is in the upper 70's but brycen has to practice against him all the time so shouldnt be that big of a deal. schroeder gets number one seed, newton 2, hartley 3 bockover or fisher 4 depending on if fisher goes there or i think they might have a family function that weekend. then you still have robinson, spexarth, miller and we can add one more maybe bugner and he might get the 4 seed instead. now thats a true all-star bracket. nothing against those lighter weight kids but at least 3 of these kids have placed at nationals and 5 of them have placed at state from 6 under up. i just want to get my kid some quality matches. 73 and 76 are short kids in this area.

I will talk to the board and coaches tomorrow.
Alot of great names.
Might have to limit the field a little, especially if they have to wrestle a normal bracket that day for a RING!

What about two brackets 64 to 73 and 76 to 85 pound? Keep it at about 9 pounds?

I dont know for sure. I will get with Scott and we can see.
I just think there are so many studs out there it would just be some awesome wrestling.
Count it as an exhibition so it dont go againest records or seedings?????

I will put my money on Andrew Gamble. This kid is very strong and has very good skills for his age.

Dylan did wrestle 76 last weekend in Ellis. He has not weighed in over 77 all year and is usually right around 76 but he chooses to wrestle 80.

the best bracket overall and im not saying those lighter weights are not worthy but come on you have schroeder who is a cliff keen champ, newton 3rd and hartley 4th, and then you have bockover who is state placer, spexarth will be, robinson will be, miller from osborne will be, bugner will be and will and is a 3 seed at tulsa this weekend. that is the bracket that people would pay money for. I would also like to see a 10 under with beeson, turner, deshazer and dryden just to name a few. those kids have enough energy to be able to wrestle in the afternoon. If I know Scott he would want Brycen to wrestle the best possible competition. It would only make Brycen and the rest of those kids to wrestle the bigger stronger kids. You see those kids at the national tournaments who cut 3-5 lbs. to make those weights anyways. Hope you guys can make that happen.

dont know how this got on the 6 under but it should have been here.

I will do whatever to get extra matches but im really only interested in having a round robin with Hartley, Schroeder, Newton, Bockover, Miller and Spexarth or Robinson or Bowen. The audience could see 3 national placers and I really think all those kids are state placers in different brackets. Im going to say it again that its not that I think the 64 lbs. are not good enough but I dont think those kids placed in nationals. When Darren Newton and I talked about having our kids wrestle against each other earlier this season it was for the kids to get better. Im pretty sure that Dylan and Jackson are shredding the 80 and over weights so this gives those 2 kids great competition and the kids at 73 and 76 havent gotten that many matches at the tournaments I have been at so that gives those kids some real quality mat time. We can either do that or we can just make it some drill time at practice together. Im down with any of that.

We are looking into this...
These guys wrestle for the ring in the afternoon session.
Some of them don't want to wrestle a full bracket in the morning and then for the ring in the afternoon. Someone suggested maybe doing it Friday night during or after weigh ins.
We still got a little time.
