http://www.bronchosports.com/documents/2010/1/20/Division_II_Wrestling_Rankings.pdf?id=878Tigers fall from 14th to 17th. Edgmon moves to 1st, but will be heavily tested against NM Highland's Seth Wright (currently unranked, but was an NJCAA champ and runner-up - beat R. Smith of Neosho and lost to Earl Jones. And an NCAA DI national qualifier for Northern Iowa in 2006) on Thursday and defending champ Arsenia Barksdale of Adams State (ranked 3rd) on Friday. Harrison jumps to 2nd, but faces the top ranked Hensley on Friday. Grater falls to 6th and Malloy falls to 8th. Newman's Blake Fisher is 8th at 133.

I'm headed over to watch Ft. Hays and Adams St. dual on Friday if Wolf Creek pass is open. I think the Tigers can knock them off like they did last year, when Adams was #5 I believe. Adams is guns and nones....studs at one weight and fish at the next weight. They have some studs though and it will take a good performance for the Tigers to knock them off. It should be a fun one to watch in the nations highest college gym (a fact they love to point out). Adams always has a pretty good crowd pack the house, Alamosa is a wrestling town for sure.

Upper Iowa shooting up to #3 after they upset #4 Minnesota State.

Looks like the MIAA duals at FHSU had some impact on these latest rankings. Really crazy at 157. Grater won 3-2 over Ivanov at MIAA duals, then last night Ivanov won 10-5 over #1 Edgington. The National tournament should be very interesting.

I didn't see that Ivanov beat Edgington that bad! Edgington beat Grater 5-7 at National duals. Grater had a 30 second pin over #2 Deaguero about a month ago. #3 Francis beat Grater 7-4 a couple weeks ago though. That weight will be one of the ones up for grabs.
McKinney losses to #4 and #6 and that puts him from #2 to out of the rankings!

Interesting Statistic for you...Teams with most ranked wrestlers. These are based on rankings, but I also think this is more reflective of where these teams will end up. Of these ten teams I'd say 8-10 of them will finish in the top ten, but they aren't ranked that way. The numbers in parenthesis are the individual rankings of that teams ranked wrestlers.
9 ranked wreslters: UNO (1,2,2,3,3,4,5,5,8)
6 ranked wreslters: Augustana (1,3,5,7,8,8)
5 ranked wrestlers: Fort Hays State (2,3,4,5,7), Newberry (2,4,7,7,8) and Adams St (1,2,2,5,7)
4 ranked wrestlers: Upper Iowa (2,2,3,4), Western State (1,3,4,4), Wisconsin Parkside (1,4,4,8), St. Cloud St (2,5,5,6), Gannon (5,5,6,8)

Harrison ranked #1, Grater #2, and Edgemon #3! Does anyone know when the last time there were two FHSU wrestlers ranked #1 in the same season?
Former Labette Cardinal Scotty Berens regained his starting spot for UCO and is back in the final rankings. Hopefully he can sneak in there and AA again this year. Edison moves up to 6th at 197 for the Bronchos.
I still think the team rankings are lame and the final results at Nationals won't be that reflective of these rankings.
