First time to KVL League, only 8 teams now. Just wandering what the bracket type they'll be using? Double, single elimanation or what?

It should be double elimination. If there are only four in a bracket, they wrestle a four man bracket. Otherwise, there will be byes drawn in and then unseeded wrestlers after the wrestlers are seeded. You can check the discussion "Seeds and Byes at Regionals - Clarification" for additional input. It is currently the last post on this page.

The above is correct- all brackets will be 8 man, double elimination bracket. So far it looks like a pretty full tournament, hopefully that holds. Come on out if you are in the area and are looking to get out of the cold! If you can't make it, you can follow your favorite wrestler via track. Congrats to Tongy, impressive team and looked like a bunch of good kids.
Congrats to Mill Valley, getting healthier and better at the right time, and a well run tournament.
Finally congrats to Bishop Ward, building a team with what looks like good, hard working, respectful Freshman, keep 'em wresting and keep bringing in more kids to this great sport.

Not meaning to nit pick, and appreciate the guys who take the time and effort post tournament results. But, do not understand the format. Why post "Guaranteed Places" followed by the actual match results. If these are cut and paste entries, after pasting why not just cut or delete the "guaranteed places. Because this forum is sometimes difficult to edit, I copy things to a MS Office blank piece of paper, edit, cut, chop, etc., then post to this forum.
Just checked--I see the same double entry format for the posts of the EKL and Sunflower tournament results.

Scooter- I agree with the above. Coach Goebel really has the Tongy team heading in the right direction. The scary thing for those of us in the league is they are young! Hopefully we'll stay healthy and get everyone back on the mat too. Thanks for commenting on the tournament, I'd like to thank all the workers and behind the scenes help we got that made it run smooth. Track was also a nice addition- I think the matside scoring helped keep thins rolling once we got past the 1st few hitches. good luck to all the KVL teams the next 2 weeks. Kale Mann

Just checked--I see the same double entry format for the posts of the EKL and Sunflower tournament results. I was going to leave this alone, but couldn't resist. 1. I am glad you appreciate the time I take to post results. 2. Yes these results were copied and pasted from Track's results page. 3. Why not edit, a better question would be- Why Edit? I didn't feel the words "Gauranteed Places" in anyway made the format or information difficult to read. Why waste the time editing out those 28 words on the off chance that someone wouldn't care to read them? Climbing on my soapbox now: I guess in the future I could just assume anyone who cared enough could follow the link to the tournament I posted in the start of this thread and find the results for themself, or better yet could attend the tournament and see 1st hand who the placers are. This is one problem I have with the "EXPECTATION" for us to post results for every dual and tournament almost immediately at the conclusion of wrestling in the name of "PROMOTING THE SPORT"- fewer people attend the events to find out what happened because they can sit behind a computer screen and find out- or in the case of the tournament we just ran- watch match results in live time. We as a wrestling community need to keep working to PROMOTE our sport- but we also need to do a better job SUPPORTING our sport through attendance at the events. The wrestlers deserve fans to cheer for them, not just people checking box scores. Climbing down off my soap box now. I guess I am tired and cranky now towards the end of the long season and after running the tournament. Not meaning to nit pick.

Well said and I agree. Posting results and real time results as are available with Track Wrestling are nice for those not in the area of the tournament; but, I too am concerned that up-to-the-minute results will encourage people to not attend their close-to-home events.

I agree! The only thing I ask of a host tourney, be it an invitational or regional, is that they post the results by the time they would have come out the following morning in the print press. I also ask that the host include the results in emails to the print media of cities/towns represented by those teams attending as well as those locally.

Im "Guaranteed" to Disagree!
Posting results is not going to keep me from tournaments in my area! My daughter and I had track wrestling up for EKL because we could not get there in the AM, but then I attended in the afternoon. Guaranteed results!
Guaranteed I am not going to make it to Western Kansas for a tournament. Would love to but too far away! But I appreciate all of the results that are provided Guaranteed!
No expectation that results are immediate! I can wait with Sporto for the paper! Guaranteed Not with him because i don't know him, but you know what I mean!
But I appreciate those who do post results. Guaranteed or not Guaranteed!
THANK YOU! Guaranteed
The older I get the better I was!

I would agree that websites that provide timely results don't cause people to not attend a wrestling tournament. Most fans that attend are family, friends, friends of family, and friends of friends of wrestlers. There are also those die hard wrestling fans that get out to see as much action as they can.
The immediate gratification of witnessing a great match will never be taken over by the delayed gratification of seeing the results of a match that took place many minutes ago. When I was overseas, I followed track wrestling for any tournament that used it. If I would have been here, I would have been at a tournament and not sitting at home looking up results on the internet.
Funny side note (wished that I would have thought of it), but I have seen fans at wrestling tournaments with their laptops looking up results on TrackWrestling.
