Parity in wrestling varies from year to year period. Don't forget, 5 and 6A schools have larger numbers to choose their best 14 from. I think it's fair to say that jv wrestlers from some of the long-standing powerhouse teams (whether it's Norton or Salina or Ark City, etc) can beat varsity wrestlers from some of the weaker teams. So just because 5 and 6A only have 32 teams doesn't mean much. Their daily practices could be tougher than a lot of duals in the lower classifications. My money is always on a school with big tradition. Regardless of size, their local heritage makes it important to be good---and that goes a long way.
