Many of the weights are incorrect in the rankings. Mike Mancuso of Junction City will be wrestling 130 as he has all year. He is the defending Basehor Champion with the following placers lined up behind him last year: 2nd)Hulse (Turner)-3rd in 5A 3rd)Baker (BV)-5A state champion 4th)Briggs (Garden City)-3rd in 6A 5th)Geske (Abilene)-4A state placer? 6th)Deeds (Goodland)-4A state champion Lots of these guys are back so it should be a good battle. ~John Steiger JCHS

Dexter Deeds is 135. There is a Deeds at 130 but that is younger brother Aaron. Dexter should win his bracket.

Tyler Gonzalez hurt his knee and may not wrestle this weekend. Also, I would have Hoffman of Shawnee Heights in the HVY final over Rittinghouse.

I know it was a exibition match. But I think Erisman has been beat by Taplin this year. And I also saw where Taplin beat Irvine this past weekend. Does anyone know if Taplin won by fall or a decision.

thanx joe keeler that was really confusing me because rankings still have him 4th at 135 also and then this i was getting really confused. its not like he'll do much with that bracket ya know its not as tough as 152 but still a decently tough bracket but that raises another question...if he's at 145 then where has jeremy kemp gone????????????

Eden may get a chance at a rematch with Artist of Glenwood. If you remember they met in finals at 145 last year. Going into overtime tied 1-1 Eden missed a take down and Artist capitalized. Looks like Artist has been dominating in Iowa and goes against top ranked kid from Lewis Central thursday night. This Poll shows 171 as the class of this meet but throw ( Taplin, Artist, or Eden ) in and any one of them might be in the finals at 171 also. Might be interesting.

Silver Lake has just been added to the Bobcat Classic due to a tournament being cancelled that they were planning to attend. This adds another state ranked team and a number of quality wrestlers.

I made no predictions. Those were just breakdowns of where they are ranked in the KWCA.

I like the fact Silver Lake got in on last minute and out of the cancelled St. Mary's which used to be one of the toughest tournaments in the state about 5-6 years ago.
BTW...Irvine had 1 loss coming into the Bobcat, Taplin pinned him in the finals of Herington last week in about 30 seconds.
Speaking of Taplin...anybody know the background of the Glenwood guy he has in the finals?
