I think it is great news that we have a lot of Novice Tournaments.

We also as clubs need to give our kids more opportunities to wrestle that don't take all day. The biggest complaint I hear from families that quit wrestling is that it takes a WHOLE SATURDAY for a couple of matches. Most of us die-hards don’t mind this at all but those new to the sport have a hard time with it. We need to give those that are new to the sport more mat time and less bleacher time so they will enjoy coming. We need to encourage duel and triangle matches between clubs. Our middle school program can run two mats have over 100 matches that start at 4:00 PM and they are finished before 7:00 PM. Why can't we do this more in Kids Club. We have 30 kids on our Middle school team and most of them get 2 or 3 matches per meet. The club directors can just fax or email rosters and weights and rankings between clubs and set up as many matches with kids that are close in age, weight, and skill level. I know we would get more spectators per wrestler on a Thursday night for 2 to 3 hours then we do on a Saturday all day. You don't even have to keep a team score just get kids matches especially new kids to the sport.

That being said, anyone in Eastern Kansas interested in dueling in the Kansas City area during the week this season? Say on a Wed or Thurs night from 6:00 PM until we are finished.
