Middle school dual in Des Moines - 04/14/14 11:29 AM

Just a few thoughts about the weekend in Des Moines. WOW! AMAZING! Was it the perfect weekend some people I am sure have some complaints. The way I see It is was near perfect. James Cook is an amazing man. Not just anyone could pull this off, he is just anal enough to do it. Thank You. ! This week end will be one of the best memories for my son! The things he learned , the friends he made, the interaction with the coaching staff it was very inspiring. So a big thank you to all involved in making this weekend happen.

I agree 100%...GREAT WEEKEND!! Team Kansas represented extremely well on and off the mat. Great Experience, Tough Competition, and it was nice getting to know some of these young wrestlers and their parents. Thanks to James Cook, The Coaches, ALL of the volunteers, parents, and kids. Great Times.

It was a great weekend. I saw a bunch of kids turn in to a team in just 2 days. The last duel we had[team spider-man] one of the kids on the opposing team said a few things to one of the boys. That pissed all of them off and the outcome was very good for team spider-man.
Thanks to JAMES COOK and all of the rest of the help the kids got this weekend. Thanks to the kids that pushed every match with all the respect team KS could show.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Mr. James Cook, the organization helpers for set-up & registration, the driver's, coach's, volunteers assisting to ensure the MS dual teams were ready for Wrestling in Des Moines!
The KANSAS Wrestling Family was Well Represented by the
Team Characters: Superman, Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk & Spiderman!
The clever KS singlet designs were the envy of the other 31 teams represented from NC to Montana!
MS Dual Memories for sure for these young men! Many went Undefeated, Many lost one, Some won one -- the ability to travel and face great competition realizing the POWER OF TEAMWORK was "out of control"! Thank you Young Men for leaving it "All on the Mat"!
Congratulations KS WRESTLING!

And you will get the same satisfaction from being a part of the schoolboy, Cadet, and Junior duals teams this summer in Freestyle and Greco.

I could post a plethora of names of kids who, IMO, had their careers in wrestling sent in an upward spiral, by participating in these types of events. It's hard to explain, but these things just do something for kids' mental toughness, and of course the "pressure" of having teammates that depend on you, helps them grow up in a hurry......

I would like to say thank you to everyone that made the weekend possible!! Even though my son's time on the mat was cut short due to a knee injury in his second match he said he loved every moment he got to spend with all the wrestlers and coaches that attended!! A very sincere thank you to James Cook for taking care of Trace and making sure he was accounted for since he was a lil slow getting around on crutches for the rest of the weekend!!

Once we got Trace home, an MRI revealed no tear of the MCL or meniscus but it did show a severe bone bruise with fluid in the marrow of the bone. He is off the crutches but still in a brace for another week or two before another assessment. His JH track season is over and he is ready to focus on summer weights and football as he enters HS!!

Still a great experience for him and for me as well!! Well done Team Kansas!!
