what is considered a dirty cross face. - 02/01/17 01:54 AM
We like to run alot of cross face. Is it dirty to co come across the neck if person exposes the neck. It's not like it's done on purpose and where not hooking the neck. My kid was called dirty but we use the same cross face in torneys that we do in the practice room. A refs never stopped a match about his cross face.any advice

If the official didn't call it you are fine.

the only dirty one is when they swing/cock their arm from a great distance to strike with force.

I believe from a technical perspective the guideline is 6 inches on both crossface arm chop etc

I don't feel coming across the neck is dirty and actually probably easier to fight through then a good solid crossface across the nose. Now if the crossface is used to choke out a kid that's a different story. But if the kid getting crossfaced is yelling "I can't breathe" then he is fine.
Just my opinion.

Thanks I have the same exact thoughts. If the kid can scream and yell choking he's not choking
