Nice little factoid there Naasz...but where in this little overview of the Beloit regional is my DQ coupon? I believe that both you and Malay owe me a double-cheese, and I'll need extra ice cream to sit on after the LONG drive to Beloit!

You will get your DQ, we can go during finals. Does that make you happier, something to look forward too for us.

What are the Kansas rules on co-oping with other schools? Specifically, student attends school that does not have wrestling but a nearby school does. Is it up to the administration of each school to allow or not allow the student to co-op or where does that decision making resposibility fall?

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/18/09 07:03 PM

I know at some schools like for coop teams in team sports (football, softball, baseball) they sign generally a two year contract between each school so the other school guarantees there will be athletes for those years and they split the funding for the team by percentage I believe. For some schools that coop in wrestling they require a certain number of wrestlers go out for the team before they will coop. Also, only one school can coop with another.

Coach Brown any ice cream for your favorite wrestling admin?

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/19/09 01:15 AM

Talk to Naasz and Malay, their the ones who owe me ice cream from the last three Beloit tourneys, Malay is a welcher an that is the problem. He always eats it before he gets back to us at the tourney, it is only about 1/2 a mile from DQ to the high school. But Malay has a soft spot for a chocolate dipped cone, he dreams about them, along with a nightmare of getting his beard caught in the door of the Beloit bus as it drives away. An Powers I believe that with the current economic situation that you(larger income)should buy me ice cream!

One more practice and one more day till the feild will be weighed, measured, and for some found wanting, for others it will be a glorious prequel to greater glory. Best of luck to all and prepare for the worst/hope for the best!

Nice quote from "A Knight's Tale.” The only movie set in medieval times and still has a sweet soundtrack with “We Will Rock You” and “Low Rider” along with a host of other songs that would not be played in this time period.

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/19/09 01:42 AM

Nice to see a movie buff like myself catching a quote, I like to add them into conversation as much as possible. As I see that by your avatar and name that you like to go off on people like a spider-monkey an prolly drink massive amounts of Mt. Dew. Yes, that just happened! Shake-n-bake....

At least I got that going for me, which is nice!

I figured so but still think he should be upset and get answers from somewhere *L*

I know Beloit Regional is an easy one and everyone wants to go there but Sabetha- how did he pull that out of his bags of tricks

joking about the reional being easy

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/19/09 05:35 PM

He begged KSHSAA to let him go to Beloit for the seed meeting.

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/19/09 05:44 PM

I was wondering if Sabetha was going to get hotels rooms in Beloit for Friday and Saturday or if he had to drive back and forth- *L* not really funny at all but these schools you just never know

Seedign meetinf sound be done via internet or someother way- traveling is crazy

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/20/09 12:20 AM

We got motel rooms for Friday night but not for Saturday, we will come home. I chose not to go to Concordia this year and maybe save a trip, we usually do not get to stay at Regionals(we usually are within an hour of our Regional?)and I am thankful for my administration for working with us on this.

Naasz called KSHSAA an asked if he could invite a friend to the Beloit regional and they said sure-he responded with "I pick Coach Brown of Sabetha!" Which makes me wonder what is the point of having friends when you get this kind of crap dumped on ya. At least I won't have to claim I went to a "tough regional" anymore in seeding meetings next year!

Next year I am going to be "sick" during this week and come down with somethin to excuse me if this happens again. How hard is it to get diptheria?

See ya tomorrow! Dream of big throws and pins!

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/20/09 12:24 AM

As far as talking to someone about being sent three hours west for Regionals, who should I call? I cannot seem to find anyway in the world short of a flood or some other act of God himself that would justify not going. I am actually kinda glad based on the fact I get the "well you went to an easy regional" every year! And as stated above I won't have to hear that for a bit at least.

Perhaps when and if we get the new gym built we can actually have a regional here an then I can treat Malay an Naasz to a nice meal at the Buzz Cafe!

Does anyone have any results from this regional in Beloit, especially at 130. There were 3 ranked wrestlers in that weight.

Just amazes me there is no link to the brackets from Beloit, or even any updates of any kind, knowing that they are usually on top of things there, having their own regular season tournament and all.

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/21/09 10:32 PM

My Nephew is wrestling and via cell phone, I heard he will either take 3rd or 4th. I guess when you normally can check the brackets, you get spoiled. Maybe they can make this a requirement to have regionals.

Did Malay pay up on his bet of DQ? That beard of his always seems to devour anything within reach when it gets hungry... just curious if the "said" ice cream ever reached the person(s) it was purchased for, or maybe we need to hold Malay down and give him a "trim"

Re: 3-2-1A Regional @ Beloit - 02/23/09 02:08 AM

I know that Beloit uses the same software that is used by most regionals and at state sites. I guess either they didn't want to post results or didn't know how.

I did recieve a DQ coupon for $5, but DQ was going through renovations an was closed(I think?). But I did recieve brownies form the Beloit Managers as a gift. I guess they felt sorry for me or something, thankfully there was no laxative in them! Malay is a stand-up fella, even though he doen't know how to use this new fangled Enternet.
