Just want to add that the Holton MatCats will be holding a

I'm excited to see how the 135 bracket turns out, some front-runners, but it'll be a dogfight of good talent to get to Salina.

Agree. Two really tough kids will stay home.

Those wrestlers average out to be 27-6 rounded up.

When will the brackets be on-line?

Has anyone been able to access the online brackets for the Holton Regional? The other 4A brackets seem to work fine.

Holton notes:

League rivals Clay Center and Abilene have made the team race a two car sprint for the cup.

The Morgans and Henley being added to Abilene's roster as move ins have definitely boosted their chances of bringing home some state hardware.

Weaver of Chapman and Cook of Smokey Valley must have had a knock out drag out semifinal's match with a score of 2-1 in Overtime.

Congratulations to Coach Brandon Pigorsch for being selected 4A Regional Coach of the Year!! The award could not have been given to a more deserving individual. Coach Pigorsch has won the hearts of his wrestlers, parents and community since coming to coach for Clay County Community High School. Congrats from all of us Coach!!

As usual with a Holton ran tournament - this was a very well ran. I had never seen Anderson wrestle - and wow - very impressive. But, so was Colten Picking of Abilene. Must of been a tough decision for the coaches.

Just want to say these 2 awards couldn't went to two more deserving people! Tyler has been a very good team leader! Brandon has been a awesome coach! We love you both!

It would be a tuff decision there were three kids undefeated coming into and leaving the tourny.
171 Ethen Mumow pinned is way to victory is now 30-0
160 Colton Picking pinned the first 2 and tech falled the last 2 36-0
215 Taylor Wuthnow .22 second fall and a couple of 5-1 wins has him at 41-0

Sure hope you're not implying that Anderson didn't deserve it!

I WAS MISTAKEN and thought the award went to the 189lb Anderson. I could not see how with 4 undefeated kids in the tourny they would give it to a kid with one loss and a 3-1 finals match.

I was informed by my Dad Coach Lamar that the 140lb Anderson was the best wrestler in Holton last weekend and the 189 Anderson was darn good too. My bad hope you understand my confusion.

The finals at state should look like a NCKL Dual I cant wait.
