5A & 6A tough first round matches...

5A & 6A tough first round matches... - 02/20/12 08:39 PM

I will be helping Fox Sports Midwest this weekend with their internet coverage of the 5&6A tournaments and would like some help.

My understanding of what they would like from me (and possibly others)is to know which matches would be the most intriguing to focus their cameras on.

If you are aware of one of those crazy first round matches that occasionally happens, I'd love to have a PM or reply with your input. I will compare them to my thoughts, but it's always better to have the input of many. Feel free to offer suggestions for the later rounds as well.

Obviously there will be a kid or two that can't make it online, but I'd like to have our tournament well represented.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan

Do you have any links or other details you can share with us about this coverage? I would like to pass it on to folks who won't be able to attend the tourney.

Coach, is that a more glamorous gig than administration or orchestra camp?

If you care to believe Lucas Baker, I think he is an oracle from Abilene (abeline---where the heck is the spell checker), there cannot be any tough 6A or 5A first round matches. All first round matches will be between regional champs and regional 4th placer medalist. According to Lucas we should expect that those 4th placers all backed into state, probably did not have to win a match, at most had to to have wrestled one match. Really, with such poor bunch of wrestlers, how could you expect a decent or competitive first round 6A or 5A match!

Thanks for posting those match ups. Just one of the many things that close minded, tunnel visioned people don't think of when they start complaining of "fair play" and combining 5A and 6A.

www.foxsportsmidwest.com is the site they directed me to. They did stream the Missouri state tournament last week, but I cannot find anything for our tournament posted yet.

I plan to talk to the coordinator for the event tomorrow. I'll post more as I find out details.

Thanks,
Ryan

I've had less people say "How did you get put in charge of an internet streaming" than "How in the heck did you get put in charge of a school" if that says anything! wink

Very few things in life will bring one closer to the pinnacle of cool than a trip to the 1982 String Fling experience in Manhappiness, Kansas! Yep, chicks dig 5th grade mediocre violin players. Right, Prant Garker?

True story: When I wrote this last question, I was hoping that the King of KWCA talk forum would come back soon. Must be a fiddler thing! HE'S BACK!
