You would think that a guy that all but demands results be posted all season long would make sure HIS teams results were posted.

Front:
Leach
Francka
Price
Randolph
Hughes
Ochs
Blackwell
Johnson
Albers
Reed
Hill
Meck
Weddington
Castlebury
Herl
Bean
Butler - In Finals v Geary!
Geary

Back side:
Howell
Freislinger
Humphrey
Wilson
Guillen
Lowe
Taylor

Nathan Butler won an awesome match in the semis against undefeated Fargo AA Carlos Turner from Utah. Nathan hit a beautiful firemans on him!

There will be plenty of wars today! 2X and 3X champs are littering the brackets. Matt Reed should have the 2X champ Schany that he beat in OT on Friday. Reed was seeded 3rd in that bracket! Blaine Hill will have the #1 seed Jeremy Grooms at 170 also.

The atmosphere is electric out here! Some of our guys will have 12 matches before we are done. We will likely not arrive in Topeka until about 5am...

We are TEAM KANSAS!

Re: Rocky Mountain National Duals - 03/19/12 12:49 AM

Really enjoyed the experience of watching team Kansas represent this weekend. I hope to see the interest in this tournament grow amongst Kansas wrestlers. I also hope to see an increase in interest from the states best wrestlers in wanting to be apart of the Kansas dual teams.
Hats off to Laine Herl, You wrestled like a beast this weekend, I have greatly enjoyed being your coach over these last four years.
Chief Renegade is doing our kids and state a great service by getting the teams together.

what happened with the kids on the front side on the tournament

Re: Rocky Mountain National Duals - 03/19/12 11:36 AM

Not going to generate much interest if people who can't go can't find out any results, and pay-per-view streaming in this economy. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

Re: Rocky Mountain National Duals - 03/19/12 11:39 AM

Bullhead you are right, but I bet everyone from the team is sleeping right now.

Re: Rocky Mountain National Duals - 03/19/12 03:54 PM

Anyone from the trip awake yet? I can't talk to Albers and find out because he's in school! Apparently they frown on cell phone use in class.

If anyone has a list of the placers we're all itching to see it
Posted By: BDRan

Re: Rocky Mountain National Duals - 03/19/12 04:32 PM

We had 8 finalists that counted towards points. I believe 15 total placers.
Kansas got 1st as a team with 144 points 2nd was 122. We had an amazing weekend with an enormous amount of quality wins and huge upsets. In 3 separate weights we had both of our guys in the finals. It was a great weekend for Kansas as a whole, putting a beatdown on anyone in our way at the tourney. Any further questions I didn't answer, Chief can clear them up wink

Would love to see individual results for the Kansas kids! Anyone able to post those for us? This event got a TON of hype on this forum and I look forward to the Individual Results! Help us out as soon as you guys wake up!!!

Trackwrestling obviously bombed!

Re: Rocky Mountain National Duals - 03/19/12 05:31 PM

Well.... I just woke up! We drove all night and arrived at 6am in Prairie Village. I will have much more detail later but this was one of my favorite wrestling trips! We won the team title that we missed last year to add to the Dual Team title. The over 6 foot trophy was incredible. Each of the four champions that we had brought home a four foot trophy!

Most of the brackets had near 50 kids each. Many state champions and multiple timers. Let me make this point VERY CLEAR. I am commited to this event and will make every effort to award the All-Class wrestlers by inviting them to join these teams in Colorado. The duals will get better and better. I predict we will see 32 teams in the duals before too long.

Three finals matches involving our own guys:

106 - Dakota Leach over Trey Francka 5-4

170 - Matt Reed over Blaine Hill 1-0

285 - Will Geary over Nathan Butler 4-3

I will post more details later but here are some finishes that I remember:

106 - Leach - 1st
106 - Francka - 2nd
113 - Price - 2nd
113 - Howell - 5th
138 - Ochs - 3rd
138 - Hughes - 6th
145 - Blackwell - 3rd
152 - Johnson - 2nd
160 - Guillen - 4th
160 - Albers - 5th
170 - Reed - 1st
170 - Hill - 2nd
182 - Meck - 2nd
182 - Lowe - 3rd
182 - Weddington - 6th
195 - Castlebury - 3rd
195 - Herl - 4th
220 - Bean - 1st
220 - Taylor - 3rd
285 - Geary - 1st
285 - Butler - 2nd

Thanks John. I forgot about the challenge match he won. He should have won the thing! Wish we had that semi match back. He was a blast to watch. Nobody throws a better headlock in transition than him!
