Burlington Wildcat Duals - Looking to Add Teams

After a successful inaugural event in December 2013, we are looking to expand our field of teams for the Friday, December 5th event.

We started at 6 teams in 2013. We are hoping to expand our field of teams to 8 and hopefully 10 down the road. Confirmed for 2014 are Blue Valley North, Burlington, Central Heights, Marion and West Elk. We also have strong interest from another 6A and 4A school that are working on their schedules.

We started at 4 p.m. and were done wrestling before 10 p.m. We also had numerous JV matches which meant a coach could bring their entire team to one location to kick-off the season and get 5 duals in one night!

Also, if there is a Western Kansas team that would like to attend, we would strongly consider putting up your team for the night in our wrestling room (on the mats) with supper and breakfast provided.

We are at a definite 6 teams for December 2014.

2 other teams have contacted us, but no confirmations yet. We really hope to grow to 8 if not 10 still this coming year.

We also are looking for teams that are interested in bringing their FULL TEAM. Varsity wrestlers would get up to 5 matches and the JV wrestlers would get 2 to 4 exhibition matches. This is a great way to start building your Team Focus for the season!

We have a 7th team, but we can not add them until we get at least and 8th.

Even if there are 8 teams, we will use a Pool System which will have a "Cross Pool Dual" as the format. Each team will still get 5 duals for the evening to START their 2014-15 Season!

We have signed 2 more teams and are up to 8 now including:
Blue Valley North, Burlington, Central Heights, Garden Plain, Marion, Towanda-Circle, Washburn Rural and West Elk.

Our goal is still to get to 10 teams on 4 mats in 1 Friday Night! Varsity Duals with schedule Exhibition (JV) Matches on the 5th Mat.

We have to add in groups of 2 teams. We would really like to get a team from Western Kansas. (We would let you sleep in our room on Friday night on the mats and then feed you in the morning!) Also, looking for a team North-Central Kansas or from Northeast Kansas.
