Emporia High wrestling coach Dennis Charbonneau has announced that he will not be returning next year.

Coach Charbonneau will be leaving Emporia High School after the school year to become the Athletic Director and an Assistant Principal at Wamego High School.

Update RequiredCoach Charbonneau took over the Emporia High wrestling program beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. During the last 5 seasons Emporia High won a State title in 2010 and 6 individuals won state titles.

Back in the NCKL again.....Chapman also has an opening from what I heard for Athletic Director.

Chapman hired Clint Merrit from Hugoton as their Athletic Director

Wrestling AD's are a plus.

Coach Charby was one of those coaches that you saw at kids' tourneys, summer FS/GR tourneys, etc. You sit back and say "no wonder he always has a good high school program......"

Always visible. And always a class act. Can't believe he would leave the luxurious overpaid underworked life of a wrestling coach, for an administrative job?

One of the greatest individuals I have ever come across in the coaching world! His joke of the day at a tournament always broke the ice in a world where everybody takes themselves way too seriously!

Not too mention he taught all of us Fargo Coaching Staffers to always remember that "I love my wife"!
