question for those of you that have been around the high school scene for a few years. I am seeing quite a few freshmen starting on high school rosters and even being ranked. I know this is typical at the light weights but im seeing some very good kids in the middle and upper weights. how is this class of freshmen compared to those in the past. I know the goddard is loaded in the junior class and several were ranked as freshmen but as a state overall how are you all seeing this freshman class. derby is loaded with freshmen and several of those kids are ranked. I see several kids that are just outside of the rankings. let me hear some of your thoughts on this. its going to be a fun 4 years of high school wrestling for me. there was a time when I wasn't sure my son would wrestle in high school. he has decided to this year and I having fun watching it. he also plays football and baseball so we shall hope he continues to do all 3 all the way through high school.

Our Fargo cadet team was one of the best we have ever had last year. How many of those guys are freshmans I couldn't tell you.

Got your answer Scott.

Freshman are tough to rank early in the season. Some get ranked on where they place at National tourneys, in club, and others that go outside the "box". As the season rolls on they get ranked on, "who beat, who". Derby's freshman have done just that. That's why they are ranked. Others like Dayton Porch, have done the same. IMOP, it's HS, anyone can be beat, doesn't matter freshman or not.
