I second that with New young coaching staff the beavers could be angry and tough! P.S. the asst coach can whip the head coach in a match

The 15th ranked Beavers of Pratt Community College will take on the 11th ranked Panthers of Neosho County Community College in their season-opener on Tuesday, November 2nd at 7:00 p.m. There will be several great match-ups with a lot of good wrestling action! Come on out and cheer on the Beavers in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena on the campus of PCC.

WE NEED ROSTERS SO THE SPECULATION CAN BEGIN. Isn't this the first dual of the year for any of the Kansas Teams? Both teams should have some intriguing surprises I would suspect.

Re: Pratt Community College - 11/03/10 02:11 AM

Evidently, Jeff Vesta wrestled for Neosho at 125 and not Steeley.

Re: Pratt Community College - 11/03/10 02:35 AM

Just waking up to get ready for early morning PT and saw the score and was stunned. Giving up 6 going in puts you in a hole anyway, but I would suspect even that outcome was mind boggling for both teams. Vesta is no joke though, so to see a score like that is pretty impressive against him.

Pratt has a few days off to appreciate the win it looks like and then if I read it right are going to both Labette Takedown and Baker this weekend?! Looks like Neosho has less then 48 hours to prepare for Labette who is ranked 8 spots higher then the Pratt Beavers! Could be a long week for Panther fans.

vesta maybe good but barber is no joke, we will take the win and build on it

Re: Pratt Community College - 11/04/10 03:07 AM

I finally got to watch the video and had a few comments:

1. Sound was choppy, but action was smooth on my end, but did I hear Pratt take a moment of silence before the National Anthem, and if so, did I miss something in wrestling this week?

2. Neosho lost several matches on simple mistakes. Before I watched the video I was just thinking DAM! But, late in the game when fatigue set in that's where some of the battles were won for Pratt who seemed to be hungry for action.

3. 6 matches by 3pts or less all went to Pratt's way, if Neosho finds a way to win in a few of those, they put themselves in good position down the stretch.

4. Open weight?! Was there not even a kid a weight or 2 lower you could have fed to the wolves? Someone is better than no one...Where is the depth?!

5. Maybe it was just me, but both teams look like then need to learn that you aren't shaddow wrestling. Lots of set ups and attempts, but no real commitments I thought.

Noted, condolences to NCCC Athletics.

I do want to mention now though, that I think it is great to know that even before a battle envolving two rivals such as Pratt and Neosho, that the level of decency and respect went through the roof by the actions of the Pratt Wrestling team, by showing the support of the men lost by Neosho in what had to be without a doubt a very difficult time. So many people believe wrestling is the greatest sport in the world, and when you see that we can take a step back...pay respects as humans, and then beat each other up as a coping mechanism, I simply have to agree.
