Labette Wrestling had the privilege to honor our wrestling student-athletes this weekend, as well as recognize our 6 graduating sophomores.

LCC is extremely proud to announce the next chapter of 6 outstanding student-athletes by broadcasting their future institutions.

Kaleb Furr (Mannford, OK) - Ottawa University (NAIA)
Joe Disciacca (Kearney, MO) - Missouri Valley (NAIA)
Alex Rice (Pasadena, MD) - Newberry College (NCAA D2)
Derrick Gates (Colwich, KS) - Fort Hays State (NCAA D2)
Tyler White (Reeds Spring, MO) - Upper Iowa (NCAA D2)
Nolan Smith (Kansas City, MO) - University of Dubuque (NCAA D3)


Labette Wrestling concluded the academic year by recognizing these young-men at our awards banquet:

Most Pins - Steven Morey II (15)
Most Bonus Wins - Derrick Gates (17)
Highest Winning % - Tyler White (88%)
Highest GPA - Kaleb Furr (3.53 - after Fall)
Most Inspirational - Alex Rice (NJCAA finish 4th)
Most Dedicated - Joe Disciacca (2x NJCAA qualifier)
Most Dominant - Tyler White (4.08 power score)
Outstanding Wrestler - DeAndre Jones (NJCAA finish 3rd)
Jody Thompson "TCOB" Award - Shea Conley (NJCAA finish 4th)

**A special thank you is deserved by many individuals, LCC family members, parents, businesses, and wrestling student-athletes**

LCC Wrestling is gracious to all the parents who contributed their time, resources, and culinary efforts to make the Awards Banquet very special. We could not have done it without your appreciated efforts.

The program also wants to thank the Parsons Recreation Commission for donating their facility to host our event.

Finally, much love is warranted to all the donors who made this year's experience for the student-athletes very special and unforgettable one.

Labette Community College has hired a new Head Wrestling Coach, Ben McKenzie. Jeff Vesta and I believe John Hambleton have also been added to the staff as well. Congratulations to Ben, Jeff and John.
