he was very impressive at the Big school vs. Small school meet on Sunday. Man-handled a very talented wrestler in Jonas. Looking forward to seeing if he can make some noise at Nationals.

I saw Roe at the Norton and Phillipsburg tourneyies. This wrestler put on a takedown clinic on several wrestlers. I don't know is actual record, but it was a pretty good record if I remember correctly.

I think his only loss was to Brendan Lund of Clay Center at the Clay Center Invitational.

I know he had 1 close match at state with Jake Nichols of Smith Center. Nichols took 3rd at 3-2-1A state with 2 falls and 2 Majors! I've heard of Roe, but what year is Nichols?!

Roe is just one of many good wrestlers in Western Kansas. However most of them do not get on here and talk themselves up, they would rather just let their wrestling talk for them.

His win the other night was more than talking...it was yelling! Very Impressive!

I would venture to say that ALMOST all of the good wrestlers in the state would rather let their wrestling talk for them, rather than getting on here and talking themselves up. I think most of the really good wrestlers have been the most humble. All of them know, on any given day, someone could be better than you.

Lance was an All Area selection by the Salina Journal (no surprise) and I was glad to see he plans on wrestling in college. I think he'd be very good. I'd like some insight on what schools are looking at him and where he might consider attending.

Mike,
Have not heard of what schools are looking at Roe but I did hear that Jonas had already signed with Nebraska. Can anybody verify this?

Roe is a stud. As much as i like Gabe Smull as a friend he got totally demolished in the finals. Nichols was a senior, he is also a very good wrestler.

If Jonas has signed with Nebraska then Roe should be able to wrestle for Oklahoma State.

Is Nichols going to wrestle anywhere...I know some coaches interested in him.

Mike Holliday do you have a full list of the Salina Journal All Area team?

Roe lost to Lund @ Clay Center 6-4, but was sick all week and had no mat time. Then @ Newton the score was 9-3.

I have watched some college matches and coach's always stess the importance of that first take down...lance roe is a take down artist and i think he would do very well in college...what impresses me about him and all norton wrestlers is that they can be dead to rights and taken down but they find i way to score or at least get i stale mate
