In Hays Kansas the Southern Plains camp has been determined to be a success by camp director Bob Phillips. Starting Sunday and ending this Wednesday evening about 90 campers and a dozen coaches has 10 sessions and roughly 20 hours of intense training.

A great deal of the success of the camp has to go first of all to Bob Phillips and then to Coach Cody Bickley of Ft. Hays State University. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Coaches Renfro and Rieck and the entire quality young men of FHSU wrestling team. They led a very intense but yet fun camp.

Regardless of how the athletes compete in Carlsbad it has been my absolute pleasure to get to know the athletes and coaches!

The Southern Plains camp was an outstanding experience not only for the young wrestlers, but for coaches as well. The kids were kept busy from sun up to sun down. Coaches attending they camp were able to sit in on the workouts or take part in coaches only sessions. This was a great encounter for all from Bantam to Cadets and for beginners to the experienced.

A big thank you to all of the people responsible for the camp. We will definitely be back next year.
