Looking for an 84 lbs. wrestler to wrestle for the Freestyle on the Silver Team.
Chaz Lawrence is the other 84 pounder but Dennis Wood unfortunately can't do it.

May need a 189 and a 215 also, Coach Chas Thompson is working on it out west but I would like to have a couple of backups, just in case.

Put the word........

Maybe might even need another 98 also depending on Furches' health.

I will try to put up a roster this weekend of the staff and wrestlers.

Thanks,

Coach Peterman

We've got a good streak of placing in Greco going...we need to get on the list for Freestyle this year too.

That's great! I plan to make it up for a couple of days of competition. I haven't looked at the schedule but do you have any idea what days the best competition will be?

I know that Florida is going to be tough this year, as is Ohio. Don't know the schedule yet, still trying to work everything out on this end and trying to decide about officiating. If I officiate I get a free room and a little spending money, but I really want to be there to cheer on Kansas. What do you think, ref or be a fan? Give me good and bad points on it. I have to make up my mind tonight.

Fan...you can relax and enjoy the duals.

Ref...you get money, but at what cost of not getting to root on your boy?

Hey Sweaz just wanted to let you know unless things have changed drastically the refs at the bigger national tournaments don't get "paid". A lot of times you just get the motel room and a meal at the tournament site. It used to be in KS a certain amount of each entry fee went to pay the officials. Most of the time all we got from the tournament people at the bigger meets was a t shirt or an officials shirt. We paid our own way to get there. The last time I worked up in Fargo KS gave us $225 to help pay our way there. Plane tickets to Fargo were around $300 and I had to take a week's vacation from work. I had a blast, but never made that much moneywise. I did make a bunch of friends all over the US. I say be a fan and spend time watching your favorite team. Who knows where you will be assigned as an official.

I think I will ref when I can, if they need me, but my priority is to be a fan. Shoot I can't deny it. I'm pulling for Kansas, have the room situation worked out and thanks to a friend for helping put up my wife and I. They know who they are and I am really excited about cheering on Kansas. Dan is right, very little, if any money, but the room and a meal basically, but that is okay, it is a great learning experience.

I've spent $50 in expenses to get a free t-shirt!
